Suzanne Frisse, owner of Meadowlark Acres, is known around town for her rainbow pasta, mouthwatering focaccia and fresh mozzarella. Frisse teaches her popular classes in private homes. Learn to make rainbow pasta, some of the finest focaccia in the city and the fine art of pulling mozzarella. You can also purchase some of the most unique preserves and candy this side of the Mississippi when class is dismissed! www.meadowlark-acres.com  |  (913) 681-5004

I visited with Suzanne Frisse of Meadowlark Acres in Stilwell, Kansas on Sunday afternoon. Anyone who has met Suzanne knows that she is a colorful culinary character, both in appearance and in spirit. Her food – sheets of rainbow pasta and lemon basil pasta drying on a rack before becoming fettuccine, for instance – is vibrant too. She is an artisan that cooks and bakes artisan breads, chutney, jellies, preserves and much more.

While cooking in her kitchen, it is impossible to ignore the abundance of bold color. Blue walls, old gold cabinets, jewel-toned goblets, painted furniture and art combine to create a festive interior. Outdoors, Suzanne’s abundant garden of flowers, vegetables and herbs put on a quiet pageant of their own. I was inspired to snap photographs and share a sneak peek of this home full of color.
